THEY are coming to venues near you in this month of July. CORD referendum petition forms begging your signature and voter registration number.
It’s the intent of CORD coalition to collect up to and exceeding eight 8 million signatures to:
1. Force a referendum
2. Prove to the world that Raila Odinga was indeed duly elected president only that one candidate had his votes illegally topped up in an elaborate rigging scheme.
Kindly check and make sure your voter card and national ID are safe and within easy reach. We know, the predictable Jubilee will soon issue a budget to buy your voter registration or ID. Please resist the urge to sell your birthright. We know people are hungry and broke, but for the sake of future generations DO NOT sell your ID card under whatever circumstances. Mvumilivu hula mbivu.
Meanwhile, the upcoming referendum shall not be presided by IEBC. IEBC has to be reconstituted and reconstructed prior to the referendum. Isaak Hassan has been for the last three months now trying to reach out to CORD principals, more so Raila Odinga using third parties. He is feeling the Heat of the Sovereign Will of The People.. His time and that of his corrupt commissioners is up.
Uhuru has also been looking for CORD leaders separately to seek to divide them through private conversations, rather than through structured means. CORD has been clear that they want structured dialogue.
Uhuru and Ruto as scared. Ruto, can’t keep off commenting about CORD. Uhuru and Ruto have recently been arguing a lot lately. There are elements of business interests within the Uhuru camp that believe that Uhuru can secure his legacy through dialogue. But Ruto would hear none of that, because he thinks dialogue may result in his mkate nusu being sliced up into pieces.
And the plot is thickening with renewed calls for a referendum… The Referendum will be a warm up to 2017, a defining moment for Kenya.
Our electoral systems effectiveness will get tested, and the rules of the game will have to be reviewed in the run-up to the plebiscite. CORD strongholds will register en masse ahead of a UN umpired plebiscite. The gap and landslide victory for CORD in 2017 should be large enough to ward off any rigging. CORD won in 2013, but the gap was not huge enough to be rigging-proof. Conservative estimates put the gap Raila gave Uhuru at 1.3 million. The Referendum is like a mock exam.
In the upcoming Referendum (matter of when not if) and 2017, CORD expects a 2.5-3 million gap. This will be very difficult to close through rigging. All that CORD needs is a mop-up strategy, to make sure that anyone who can vote, votes, and that any vote that is ours is counted, through a nationwide presence of agents. We have the numbers, all we need is to guard those numbers, which is the total voting population of at least 40 tribes.
Be ready, as the comprehensive resolutions issued at Uhuru Park are just the start towards a peaceful, constitutional and people driven process to change our beloved country.
GOD BLESS KENYA
