NO NONSENSE Traffic Police officer IMPOUNDS First lady Margret Kenyatta’s CAR

January 17, 2015

A vehicle belonging to First Lady Margaret Kenyatta was on Thursday morning impounded by police for bearing unprescribed number plate.

The personal vehicle belonging to Mrs Kenyatta was commandeered to the Traffic Police Headquarters in Ruaraka mid-morning but was released a few minutes later.

Although officers from the Ruaraka Police Station declined to comment on the matter, sources from National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) indicated that the vehicle was apprehended within the City Centre.

The vehicles was being driven by Mrs Kenyatta’s driver with no one else inside.

“It was released a few minutes later following advice from Statehouse,” the officer who did not want to be named stated.

When contacted on phone, NTSA’s Director of Road Safety Matthew Munyao did not confirm the incident but said that the authority would not hesitate to seize vehicles that flout traffic rules, regardless of who the owner is.
