Mombasa county’s director of health Dr Hadija Shikeli confirmed that the tourist died while in the theatre at Mombasa hospital.
The bullet was lodged in her head.
The young tourist was shot while touring a historical site in Mombasa.
“She has been rushed to hospital and an investigation and search for the attackers launched,†Mombasa’s deputy divisional police chief Tom Okoth confirmed moments after the incident.
