The level of desperation in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government entered a new low when a TNA legislator, without shame, demanded to know the ‘status’ of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s visit to the United States under the auspices of annual Africa’s Presidential Centre visitor programme.
Kirinyaraga Central MP Joseph Gitari  questioned Odinga’s visit claiming the CORD leader does not meet the status of the programme beneficiaries.
He claimed Tinga was not a president! Ostensibly, the MP demanded why the programme organizers did not invite retired President Mwai Kibaki.
Raila is on a month-long leadership and academic fellowship at the African Presidential Center in Boston University where he is set to give a series of lectures and speeches.
In Parliament, the MP demanded that the government, through majority leader Aden Duale, to explain on what basis did the CORD leader got selected to participate in the elite leadership programme.
