A top TNA official in Nairobi County has informed Kenya Today that the removal of former National Youth Service was purely a URP affair and President Uhuru did not pariticipate.
Reacting to comments by the Deputy President William Ruto over the weekend that he and President Uhuru ‘agreed’ to the removal of Rugut, the elected official claimed it was Ruto who fell out with Rugut over a deal.
“We were surprosed to hear him claiming the president was party to him. I can tell you this thing [Rugut removal] was purely a URP affair. We had that Ruto had issues with some Kibaki civil servants some who are said to be allied to Kipruto Kirwa, it is said that Rugut among other Kibaki/Kirwa orphans are the ones underming Ruto.
Other Rift valley leaders have argued that Rugut was a Kibaki ally who only gave deals to Kikuyus and therefore his exit from NYS does NOT affect the community since he NEVER really helped the community, this is the reason WHY Ruto directed Anne Waiguru to transfer him, although he did NOT expect that Waiguru could a pooint another Mt Kenya son as the replacement”.
A disgruntled Kalenjin MP, not Alfred Keter, who this week fell out with Ruto was overhead saying those close to Rugut claimed Ruto demanded Ksh 40 million. Rugut, however, has refused to publicly comment about the issue, only saying he was ‘sacrificed’ by an ‘unbelievably close quarter’.
