THREE people have been sentenced to death over the killing of former Embakasi Member of Parliament Mellitus Mugabe Were in 2008.
Those sentenced to death include James Odera Omondi alias Castro, Wycliff Simiyu and Paul Otieno.
Justice Luka Kimaru who sent the three to the gallows, however set free the fourth accused person Mary Muthoni wa Maitha for lack of evidence.
Hon Were was shot dead in January 2008 outside his house in the Woodley estate in Nairobi just after he had been elected Member of Parliament for Embakasi Constituency under Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement party. The murder of Hon Were was carried out before violence broke out in the disputed presidential election in 2007.
The late Hon Were heavily defeated fading PNU candidate Ferdinand Waititu in the 2008 Embakasi Constituency general elections, but Waititu is now on the spot after he succeeded the late Were in a hurriedly organized by elections in 2008 were he won on a PNU ticket.
Waititu is now in political limbo after he lost the 2013 Nairobi Gubernatorial elections against Evans Kidero and he’s now plotting to be the running mate of Bishop Wanjiru in the Nairobi Governors seat in 2017.
Waititu has joined hands with his former PNU ally and former Councilor Maina Kamanda who wants to be the Senator of Nairobi in 2017.
The Waititu-Kamanda-Wanjiru evil axis is plotting to lock out the likes of Kidero and Sonko from City politics come 2017 but the big question this Mt Kenya power axis is;- do they have numbers?
