The jubilee regime war on Kamba community continues unabated with the sacking of Deputy Inspector General Grace Syombua Kaindi.
Kaindi was suspended yesterday in a reshuffle which saw John Kitili Mboya elevated to act in her position. She joins former cabinet secretary Charity Ngilu and former Internal PS Amb. Monica Juma.
For Ms Kaindi, her handling of Kapedo massacre where new police recruits were sent into death’s trap as well as the bungling of Garissa University terror response where the police took hours to respond, leading to slaughtering of 147 helpless students, had cast a spell on her career.
Kahindi is also accused of the shoot-to-kill order she gave in 2007/08 while police boss in Kisumu which led to hundreds of youths getting killed during peaceful demonstrations. She was transferred from the region soon after the formation of the coalition government with a promotion to police headquarters.
ODM leader and then Prime Minister opposed her appointment, together with that of Ndegwa Muhoro, as they had been done by Kibaki without following the National Accord. However, Raila’s protestations were ignored.
It seems her luck ran out eventually.
