Galole MP Dhado Godana was arrested and briefly held at Muthaiga Police station on Wednesday morning in relation with the violence in his constituency. Hon Dhado who is also Assistant Minister for Livestock was arrested over comments he made concerning security in the Tana Delta, in an interview with K24 TV’s Jeff Koinange (Capita Talk) hon Godana gave hints of what could be the genesis of the violence which has led to 116 deaths in the past 4weeks with several homes touched and thousands of livestock stolen.
Hon. Godhana allegedly called for the removal of Defence Minister Yusuf Haji from the Internal Security docket failure to which there would be no peace in Tana River. He demanded that hon Haji be investigated over the deaths saying the clashes pitting Pokomo and Orma communities in the area are political.
Earlier last week Godhana recorded a statement with the Criminal Investigations Department over the violence in Tana.
