The Moi university community and the country at large is in a shock following the murder of a 3rd year student in campus last night.
The murder of a female student identified as Charity Maina at Moi University Main Campus shocked the university still smarting from last month’s incident where another student was found dangling from a tree after committing suicide.
The institution, led by Vice Chancellor Prof Richard Mibey, was in the news recently after suspending over 38 students from Nyanza and Western in what other students claimed was attempt to subdue students into silence even as the university fail to deliver basic services to students – especially proper accommodation.
The student is said to have been attacked at a private hostel rented by the university to house students who lost regular accommodation within the university halls.
Investigations are yet to be launched into the incident.
