STATEHOUSE DISMISSES negative Rumours against Mike Sonko, the popular senator has access to President

January 19, 2015

State House has denied claims that Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko has been blocked from accessing President Uhuru Kenyatta over his political aggressiveness.

State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu has dismissed the rumour circulated by the unrespected Citizen Weekly newspaper which survives on “pay for character assassination”.

The paper had also indicated that President Uhuru Kenyatta had blocked Sonko’s telephone number on his private mobile phone, a claim Manoah has also denied. “ The President respects all elected leaders and he enjoys cordial relationship with the Nairobi Senator.

Treat any other information as mere rumour because State House does not operate as they are claiming,” said Manoah when reacting to questions from a local daily. The political adviser to the president Joshua Kuttuny also confirmed to us that senator Sonko was and is still a close ally of president Uhuru.

The Senator through his Facebook page has also confirmed he still enjoys tight and close relationship with State House. Here is one of Sonko’s posts on his facebook page.

“To my enemies your cheap malicious propaganda will not stop me from delivering services to the great people of Nairobi. I’m still alive healthy & kicking. Mutaongea mchana usiku mutalala na kazi itaendelea. Have a good night.”

We did a spot check in the Senate and it’s confirmed the popular Senator is in Mandera County with the Senate Security committee probing the recent massacre of teachers and quarry workers by Al Shabaab

According to sources a former Nairobi star journalist and now a media PR officer attached to Kidero’s office was given a budget of Kshs 350,000 to bribe the CEO of the gutter paper – Citizen Weekly, Mr Alwaka to write false negative stories about Sonko.

Sources have now blamed Starehe MP Maina Kamanda for the latest media war against Sonko after the former Councilor met Nairobi Women Representative Rachael Shebesh and a section of TNA leaders where they pooled Kshs 450,000 to tarnish the image of Sonko who recently launched the ambitious Sonko rescue team aimed at fixing the loopholes left by the non performing County Government of Evans Kidero.
