STANDARD GROUP-KTN SACKS Editorial Director Chacha Mwita

STANDARD GROUP-KTN SACKS Editorial Director Chacha Mwita

April 4, 2014

SACKED: JICHO PEVU claims Standard Group Editorial Director Chacha Mwita his job!!

Chacha Mwita has this morning been fired from Standard Group by CEO Sam Shollei in what insiders claim was the Editorial Director’s insistence to run Mohamed Ali-John Allan Namu Jicho Pevu investigations on what transpired during the 2013 General Elections.

Mwita was literally escorted outside the premises of the Standard Group located along Mombasa road with private security guarding the building.

According to KahawaTungu, a news blog associated with veteran blogger Robert Alai, Mwita alongside Mark Kapchanga and Kipkoech Tanui were also being blamed for portraying State House in bad light in the Ksh 100 million story. When the news broke out, we reported here how Standard Group had been summoned by State House to appear before a furious president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Back then, Uhuru was running a trashy anti-wage bill propaganda that Kenya’s top economists have peeled to be a grand scheme to loot the country over Ksh 70 billion by government providing unsubstantiated, impractical economic outlook of the country.

But it is the Jicho Pevu story which rattled state house it would have brought back the ghosts of the 2013 disputed elections which the opposition CORD maintains was rigged by design through state machinations. At the centre of Jicho Pevu saga is the demand by Standard Group CEO Sam Shollei to massively edit the whole expose and remove contents which are offensive to state house.

But that will render the whole thing a journalistic rubbish as the whole thing is offensive to the Jubilee Alliance.
