SONKO pays Ksh 300,000 to owner of pub where his guards and Shebesh fought

SONKO pays Ksh 300,000 to owner of pub where his guards and Shebesh fought

May 27, 2014

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has settled the cost of  damages his people  caused over the weekend during a scuffle with alleged ex-squeeze Rachael Shebesh.

The two leaders almost exchanged blows at Caribea Restaurant in what is seen as a renewal of personal and political rifts occasioned by a bitter fallout late last year.

They have both recorded statements to the police and were to share the Ksh 300, 000 of the damaged goods, including unpaid bills they caused during the near fatal incident in which a Shebesh guard had to shoot in the air. However, sources close to the flamboyant senator revealed he settled the bill ‘in the spirit of Madaraka’ celebrations and that the pub owner came from Makadara constituency, his former political turf before he rose to the top of Nairobi politics.

Sonko maintains his people were provoked and he is not guilty of any wrongdoing.
