CORD leader Raila Odinga will this afternoon tour the Somali economic hub of Eastleigh to show solidarity with Kenyans living in the area after weeks of government security hauls targeting Somalis, and, or, Al Shabaab.
The visit by Raila will also confirm an improvement of security situation in the city. Odinga will be the first top Kenyan leader outside the Somali ethnic group to visit the area which has been spurned by top Jubilee leaders.
Raila Odinga has maintained that arbitrary arrest of Somalis by the police is illegal and unconstitutional and will not solve the security situation in the country.
While away, Odinga was ‘informed’ by various Somali leaders, including Mandera Senator Billow Kerrow, Â of how Jubilee government entered into Eastleigh with force, destroying businesses and incarcerating thousands of Somalis at Kasarani concentration camps in a nazi-like operation.
President Uhuru Kenyatta who recently acquired a Ksh 55 million armoured vehicle from China has never stepped in Eastlands, choosing to enjoy the safety and ambience of State House.
Raila will be accompanied by several Somali leaders and members of the CORD coalition.
