The ability to finish quickly can be advantageous in many areas of life, but not sex.
Premature ejaculation is a common cause of distress for many couples who yearn for long-lasting sexual encounters.
Researchers at Erciyes University in Kayseri, Turkey just completed a year-long study that correlated body mass index (BMI) with male sexual performance.
They found that overweight men, or those with high BMIs, lasted an astounding five minutes longer during sex than their thinner counterparts.
Two hundred men were surveyed, the researchers finding that the ‘bulky’ ones lasted an average of 7.3 minutes in bed.
The thinner ones barely last two minutes, and were more likely to suffer premature ejaculation.
So what is it about big bellies that makes some men ‘great’ in bed?
The research showed that more belly fat is the result of more estradiol, a female sex hormone that helps to inhibit orgasms in men.
They higher supply of the hormone leads to big bellies.
In women, estradiol is essential for the development and maintenance of female reproductive tissues, including bones.
Furthermore, while oestrogen levels in men are lower compared to women, the hormone stops sperm cells from dying off.
Stamina rules between the sheets, so ladies, perhaps enjoy a few rounds of mind-blowing sex with your big-bellied bloke before nagging him about the gym?
Remember though, that extra fat on any body part will always be harmful to health.
