Kenyans should have a frank and candid conversation about UHURU and RUTO being the only politicians charged with crimes arising from the post-poll violence in 2007/2008.
Six years later, the police officer who was in charge of Kibera just got releaved of his duties a week ago.
GRACE KAINDI, the police boss who over 99% of those murdered in Kisumu and other areas in Nyanza (many with police bullets shot from the back) got promoted and she’s currently a deputy IG.
Institutionally, all the rank and file who participated in that violence have got rewards.
Ali, even after leaving police force discredited, got recycled in the government. Iteere, the man whose men cordoned off KICC and effectively hightened violence was promoted to a police commissioner where, later on, he oversaw other deaths, including that of Baragoi killings. He would later be recycled to something else.
Thing is; no self-respecting country, after that orgy, would have let these people remain on the jobs. Add people like Muthaura, Gichangi et al and u get what I mean.
Mark me wrong not. I’m not saying all these people were guilty; but for the reason that they were in charge, a certain amount of responsibility they ought to carry.
RUTO. How was he able to plan the whole violence without then NSIS knowing? If they knew, what did they do? why did they not stop it?
RUTO was in ODM then, and from his recent submissions, his party at that time did not plan the violence!
An innocent man is at the HAGUE.
