After a protracted stand-off, the government has finally moved the Mandera County Commissioner Alex ole Nkoyo elsewhere. I would say good riddance! Nkoyo was incompetent & arrogant to the say least. He spectacularly failed to maintain teamwork in the security leadership in the county, and had an obvious disdain for the county government leadership which made effective cooperation difficult. Under his failed leadership, the county suffered numerous terrorist attacks that led to an exodus of upcountry public servants & businessmen. At the height of his poor leadership, he rubbished the terrorist attacks on the person of the governor as mere banditry. If government was committed to true accountability, this man would be anywhere else but not in public service. Those who think he deserves a warm sendoff, please do so by all means but know that he doesn’t deserve it. My heart goes out to the residents of the county he has been moved to! I believe the incoming officer would do well to work with the county leadership in order to reverse the collapsed security situation in the county. He’s welcome!
He said on Facebook. Should such an officer even continue serving?
