The Government of Kenya was embarrassed in South Sudan after it failed to come to aid of a Kenyan family to transport the body of a Kenyan teenager who was murdered in Juba Town by unknown people.
The decomposed body of 21 year old Rodgers Oyaro Manono will now be buried in a mass grave in Juba after the Government failed to come to the rescue of the family to transport the body to Kenya by air after body was founded in Juba on the 12th of August.
However the philanthropic Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko who was touched by the sad story after being briefed by his Sonko Rescue team officials managed to secure an air ticket for the body to be transported by Fly 540 from Juba to Nairobi but the airline refused to transport citing complications with authorities.
The flamboyant Senator there after offered to support the family of the late Oyaro financially to transport the body by road on 18th Tuesday, but the family was shocked when they went to pick the body at the Juba Teaching Hospital mortuary when they were told that the body has decomposed beyond recognition.
”The body was packed in a container with other 20 or so bodies, there was no power for four days and when the mortuary attendant opened the container we were shocked to see charred remains with flesh falling off from all bodies and thus making it hard to identify the body” a cousin to the deceased informed the Sonko Rescue Team.
”We wish the government could offers us support identify the body and take our son remains to our village for a descent send off, we are grateful to Sonko Rescue for the support, even if we dont have the body we will use the money to carry the lare Oyaro’s belongings back home” added the cousin to the deceased.
The traumatized family will now conduct a traditional funeral in honour of the teenage boy in Nyamira County on Friday.
