The Jubilee Alliance government now plans to add a host of measures to improve the dwindling tourist numbers affected by the harsh ‘look east’ tourism diplomacy.
Several sources from the ministry of tourism have informed this writer that the ministry is thinking of introducing naked bike rides along exclusive sandy beaches in South Coast to woo more Western/European tourists.
This was after results showed the number of tourists in the country had hit an all time low, with European holiday makers choosing to visit Tanzania, Morocco and South Africa more than Kenya.
It also came amidst gloomy figures from Chinese tourists who come prepared with everything, including their own sufurias. But more shocking is the allegation that Chinese tourists spend in make-shift tents inside their embassy compound in Nairobi. Some are being host by their contractors/mechanics who are set to build Standard Gauge Railway.
Calls by President Uhuru to employers to allow their employees work from high-end hotels, lodges, game-parks, sandy beach and yachts (like those used by Virgin Atlantic CEO Richard Branson) fell in deaf ears as employers insisted workers must operate from their workstations.
The naked bicycle rides will not be open to Kenyans as this may lead to the opposition CORD expediting the July 7 Sabababa movement to a date earlier than that as the state would be considered already collapsed.
