Samson Ocheng Jera, the Langata ODM Branch Chairman is currently lying in hospital bed after a cowardly attack by thugs armed with machetes last night Friday 20th Feb 2015, Jera is nursing deep cut in the head and arm.

The motive of the attack has not yet been established

Jera is a dynamic businessman cum grass-rooted politician who is so dogged and passionately rooted in the dynamics of grass-root politics. He is regarded as the key to Kibera grassroot by both ordinary Kibera folks and the high and might of Kenya politics.

The humble and fearless Ochieng Jera in a previous interview with this writer attributed his political strengths and abilities to fear of God and respect to the Kibera locals who gave him the power to engage with those in leadership positions.

Jera conformed his ability in organizing and mobilizing ordinary folk is due to his long faithful stint as an astute student of the “Raila Odinga Political University”. to which now he is a junior faculty member

Jera has not run for elected office himself and remains very calm and calculated in discharging his responsibilities. He is known to weigh his words carefully. Those who saw him in church consulting and endorsing Owalo, know he meant every word he said.
