Enigmatic opposition leader Raila Odinga will arrive in Nairobi next Saturday. Already, a team has been set coordinate the return of Kenya’s most resilient political leader.
While thousands were to head to the airport to welcome Raila, that arrangement has now been shelved because of terrorism threats. Instead, a mammoth crowd is expected at Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) where the CORD leader will officially be ‘received’ back from Boston.
The former Prime Minister, alongside other renowned world leaders, was at Boston University Africa Presidential Centre on leadership sabbatical. During the two months tour, Raila engaged scholars, investors and students in various top American Universities, including Harvard and Princeton universities.
He also visited the burial cite of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
While away, Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o took charge of ODM party during which the opposition released a stinging report of the ruling Jubilee’s one year in power.
