Raila Odinga in South Korea with Kisii Governor James Ongwae

ODM/CORD leader the Rt Hon Raila Odinga is in Seoul, South Korea as the Chief Guest at the Korea Unification Drive hosted by the Global Peace Foundation. Accompanying the former Prime Minister is the Governor of Kisii County, H. E James Ongwae.

This comes a few months after the CORD Leader played a similar role in Zanzibar also at the invitation of the Africa Chapter of the Global Peace Foundation in a forum that brought together key leadership from East African nations in an effort towards regional integration.

Mr. Odinga is fast emerging as an influential figure in international relations and promoter of peaceful co-existence in a multi-diverse world. Mr. Odinga is much sought after with many nations seeking to draw from his wealth of experience on fostering good international relations for sustainable development.

Also in the delegation are:

Dr Noah Akala – Secretary, Science, Technology and Innovation (ODM)

Dr Skitter Ocharo – CEC for Roads, Public Works and Transport

Mr Kenani Onchari – Economic Advisor to the Governor

Mr Daniel Juma – Executive Director, Global Peace Foundation Kenya

The Party Leader shall deliver the keynote address on the role of South Korea in global sustainable development before co-chairing a session on the roadmap to Korean re-unification with former Guatemalan President Hon Marco Vinicio Cerezo.

He and the Governor will later today meet key political actors in South Korea ahead of a Gala dinner with over 1,000 youth to push for stronger bilateral ties between Kenya and South Korea.

Later on in the tour, the former PM and the Governor will engage the Korea International Cooperation Agency alongside other private investors on potential areas of cooperation and partnership with special focus on infrastructure, water & sanitation, education, healthcare and human resource development.

  6. Tae-lk Chung – Chairman, Korean Council on Foreign Relations
  7. Ann Young-Mok Kim – President, Korean International Trade Agency
