Cord leader Raila Odinga has raised alarm thatÂ Â the jubilee alliance government is using ‘hate-speech’ claims to gag opposition by arresting and or, summoning its leaders. Nine CORD leaders have been summoned to record statements by the DPP.
Nairobi County ODM branch chair George Aladwa is believed to have been arresting after arresting a press conference in which he was accused of claiming he will mobilize millions of Odinga supporters to swear him in on saba saba day.
Raila insisted CORD leaders are speaking the truth to Kenyans on issues bedevilling the country.
Senators summoned are Boni Khalwale (Kakamega), Elizabeth Ongoro (Nominated), Hassan Omar (Mombasa), James Orengo (Siaya) and Johnstone Muthama (Machakos). The MPs to record statements are Jakoyo Midiwo (Gem), TJ Kajwang (Ruaraka), Simba Arati (Dagoreti North), and Mohammed Junet (Suna East).
They are accused of inciting the public in their push for dialogue with the government.
