Raila Odinga and Ten Governors Leave For A Forum In Texas, USA.

Prime Minister Raila Odinga leaves for Dallas USA today Thursday 25th July to attend a forum that has been organised for CORD affiliated County governors.The governors will among other engagements meet and make presentations to potential investors in USA.

Here below is the statement sent out by Prime Minister’s press secretary.

GOVERNORS LEAVE FOR US FORUM:

The following Governors leave the country later today to attend a forum in Dallas, Texas where they will, among other engagements, meet and make presentations to potential investors drawn from the US. The governors’ delegation is being led to the US by CORD leader Raila Odinga.

The meeting opens 27th July 2013. Its climax will be on July 28, 2013 where the Kenyan delegation will make presentation to a forum dedicated to Investor Relations.

At the Investor Relations Forum, the Kenyan governors will make presentations on various opportunities in their counties that are open to foreign investors and the priorities.

The Dallas forum is the first among a number planned by CORD to help the Governors attract Foreign Direct Investment to their counties and to have first- hand experience of managing devolved units in close collaboration with the national government. In the delegations are:

1. Alfred Mutua (Machakos)

2. Cornel Rasanga Amoth (Siaya).

3. John Nyangarama—Nyamira

4. Cyprian Otieno Awiti (Homa Bay)

5. Sospeter Odeke Ojaamong (Busia)

6. Amason Jeffa Kingi (Kilifi)

7. Josephat Koli Nanok (Turkana)

8. David Kepue Nkedienye (Kajiado)

9. Jack Ranguma (Kisumu)

10. James Ongwae (Kisii)

The other remaining CORD affiliated governors will also be touring USA at later date to be announced. The need for foreign direct investments into the economy cannot be emphasized.
