It is with deep shock and dismay that I have learned of the tragic demise of our ODM chairperson for Homabay County Mrs. Monica Amolo and three other party members through a tragic road accident along Homabay-Ndhiwa road.
The last night’s incident came as a shocker as we had a good day together with Mama Monica during the last day campaign for our Homabay County Senatorial by-election candidate Mr. Moses Otieno Kajwang right from Kendubay through to the final rally in Homabay town.
On behalf of the ODM and CORD, my family and on my own behalf, I wish to convey heartfelt condolences to the family of Dr. Amolo (Monica’s husband) and the families of the other three party members for the loss. I pray to God to give them the strength to overcome grief during this trying moment.
Mama Monica Amolo’s death is a big loss not only to the party which she served with dedication but also to the women leadership in the country where she took part in various mentorship programmes on women empowerment.
Monica was a dedicated and committed selfless servant of our party ODM. In the past two months, she had devoted her time to campaign for our candidate in tomorrow’s by-election Mr. Moses Kajwang and was ever present in his planning meetings and rallies.
As a tribute to this gallant daughter of Homabay County and a staunch supporter of our party ODM, I on behalf of the ODM and CORD leadership urge the people of Homabay to turn up in large numbers and vote for the party candidate Mr. Kajwang.
May the souls of departed ones Rest in Peace.
