Raila Joins Uhuru at JKIA new terminal groundbreaking ceremony

December 3, 2013

Former Prime Minister and CORD leader Raila Odinga joined President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto at the official groundbreaking ceremony of the new terminal at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The new terminal, under project Greenfield, is expected to make JKIA one of the most convenient airports in the world.

“The construction of this new greenfield terminal, with a capacity to handle more than 20 million passengers, and, eventually, a 2nd runway that is planned for this Airport, will enable Kenya attain her National Vision 2030 aspirations to be a middle income country,” said President Kenyatta.

“Our intention is to make Jomo Kenyatta International Airport the most convenient, comfortable and secure airports in Africa,” added the president.

Also at the ceremony was Nairobi Governor Dr Evans Kidero and Baringo Senator Gedion Moi.
