CORD leader Raila Odinga has called on his supporters to maintain peace in the City ahead of his welcome back rally at Uhuru Park. Through his spokesperson Dennis Onyango, the PM urged his supporters to exercise restraint during and after the rally.
“ODM/ CORD coalition leader Raila Odinga is appealing to supporters preparing to welcome him on Saturday to exercise restraint and remain peaceful and civil before, during and after the rally at Uhuru Park.
Mr Odinga stressed it is extremely important that supporters hold the peace, respect the rights of others in the city who will not be attending the rally and observe the rule of law.
He has asked police to be civil and professional in handling the event and the rally goers to work with the security agencies.
Mr Odinga also reminded supporters that due to current security and logistical challenges, they must keep off the airport. This will also ensure supporters do not add to the inconveniences travellers are currently experiencing at the airport.
Mr Odinga has also appealed to leaders attending the rally to take it upon themselves to heal the nation,” reads the statement.
