To anyone who was watching Citizen’s Opinion Court with Ann Kiguta yesterday might have wondered what became of ‘the nation’s most revered’ political analyst. One would say Mutahi Ngunyi either stooped too low degenerating in to a Jubilee government chief propagandist or it was his deep seated biases/nuances that got the better of him.
The latest disinformation from the man of ‘Tyranny of Numbers’ fame came on during peak time television where he shared what appears to be his own unproven personal opinions full of nonsensical contradictions.
He begins with a hysterical allegation that the ongoing Cord Rallies are part of a wider scheme that the Western nations are planning to trigger an ‘African Spring’. He continues to assert that, it is well choreographed like the North Africa’s ‘Arab Spring’ and it’s aimed at destabilizing the entire Horn of Africa region from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan.
He is sarcastic in the end by saying he might be wrong but the damage had already been done, the kind of twisted propaganda the nation’s airwaves had been subjected to is dangerous and laced with tribal venom that should only come from Kameme Fm .
Professor Kisiangani faulted Mutahi Ngunyi’s thoughts and suppositions and went ahead to expose the truth about his statements. He said ‘his statements are serving the interest of certain political group and what they want is to create a climate of fear’.
Hon Chris Wamalwa also appears not amused by Ngunyi’s utterances and reminds the audience watching from whence the analyst derives his theories. He said ‘he researches lacks objectivity and he knows where his bread is buttered’.
In effect, Ngunyi is more lethal than 10,000 Moses Kuria’s if one has looked at Nazi Germany and how potent was the pervasive propaganda used to maintain fascist regime. Now, for those who cried that the Jubilee Activist Mr. Kuria be reprimanded should now wail that Mr. Ngunyi is summoned to the CID headquarters.
On the other hand, these serious allegations come in the backdrop of another seemingly ‘isolated’ incident that can make one ponder the overarching scheme of let’s say some evil forces in the region. The incident in question is the plan to assassinate Raila Amolo Odinga by presidents Yoweri Museveni and Paul Kagame.
Finally, the Big Question one might be left with here is, if it were that the ‘Tyranny of Numbers Theory’ was to help legitimizing the vote; what does the Western ‘Africa Spring Theory’ aimed at achieving?
