Breaking News just in indicate that a long time vice chancellor of Kenyatta University Prof George Eshiwani is dead. Professor Eshiwani died Saturday afternoon at the Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu where he had gone for treatment.
Eshiwani’s wife rushed him to hospital from their Kakamega home after the academician complained that he was feeling unwell.
While at the hospital however, Eshiwani collapsed and efforts by medical staff to resuscitate him bore no fruit.
Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli was the first to break the news of the demise of the decorated academician on his Facebook account.

Pole sana to all those who know a patriotic Kenyan scholar Proffessor George Eshiwani has just passed on an hour ago at the hospital in Western Kenya as my relative more information later God Bless.
The late Prof Eshiwani is said to have ruined many lives while at Kenyatta university where expulsion and long term suspensions were the order of the day for alleged ‘rogue’ students.
Prof Eshiwani is also credited with a great vision for the university in terms of development, he used his close friendship with retired president Moi to complete several projects. KU was among the first university to initiate online registration of students.
The KU Cultural week is one of the sounding initiatives under Prof Eshiwani.
Prof Eshiwani was appointed KU Vice Chancellor in 1992 and left in 2003.
In 2007 he vied for Kwhisero parliamentary seat but failed during the ODM nominations, he later joined Mt Kenya University as chancellor.
Prof. George S. Eshiwani was a Professor of Mathematics, he also served as the first Principal of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and was the current chairman of the University Council-Technical University of Kenya- Nairobi (formally Kenya Polytechnic)
