President Uhuru Kenyatta today witnessed a historic moment as Standard Gauge Railway line under construction reached Tsavo. The SGR Phase 1 is expected to reach Nairobi before 2017 General Elections.
Tsavo is a historic place in the sense that the lions of Tsavo – christened Man Eaters of Tsavo -attacked and ‘ate’ colonial railway workers who were building the ‘lunatic express’. President Uhuru was accompanied by his Deputy William Ruto and several cabinet secretaries.
Twitter was abuzz with the good news.
