President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed Anglican Archbishop Eliud Wabukhala to chair a new anti-corruption body to be known as the National Anti-Corruption Campaign Steering Committee. Also appointed is Rev. Jessie Mutura as Vice-Chairperson.
Other members of the body will include Rahab Mwikali Muiu (Mrs), Jardine Mgharo Mwangeka (Mrs), Jackline Akinyi Maganda (Ms), Francis Ngâ€™angâ€™a, Adan Wachu , the solicitor-General, office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice and the principal Secretary, National Treasury
Also in the team are the principal Secretary Ministry of Devolution and Planning, the Principal , Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology,the managing Director, Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, the Chairman, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, the Director National Anti-Corruption Campaign Steering committee
The team will be in office for five years.
The functions of the committee shall be to undertake a nationwide public education, sensitization and awareness creation campaign aimed at effecting fundamental changes in the attitude, behavior practices and culture of Kenyans towards corruption.
