Believe it or not powerful individuals were behind the push to have the registration of the Gays and Lesbians Union.
A City MP from the Jubilee coalition who has recently declared his interest for the Governors seat and who is believed to be gay is said to have jointly pushed for the petition together with a vocal civil activist who is allied to the Jubilee Government.
The two who are believed to be an item are said to have financed the National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission which won a legal battle to be registered and officially recognized in the country.
The first time MP and the veteran activist and former journalist are now plotting for the legalization of Gays and lesbians in the country to achieve their long time dream.
However Attorney General Githu Muigai has already appealed the decision of the High Court allowing the registration of a gay and lesbian organisation.
The High Court ruling allowing gays and lesbians to form an association had been denied by the NGO Co-ordination Board.
