After a deafening thrashing whose vibrations sent shock-waves in the political scene, Nairobi governor Dr Evans Kidero today boldly assembled a team which has all the hallmarks of an early campaign machinery.
Kidero shockingly lost unopposed in the just concluded Council of Governor’s elections where none of the 47 governors proposed him to continue serving as the Vice Chairperson – making history as the first politician in Kenya to lack a proposer .
Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko termed Kidero’s loss a ‘victory to devolution’.
Returning to Nairobi in heavy political shame, Dr Kidero has moved fast to set his campaign mode in motion. He hired Ronnie Osumba, a former vice-presidential running-mate of Peter Kenneth to head the team. But in paper, Ronnie will be the second in command after Caren Wakoli who will chair it.
