Deputy Inspector General of Police Grace Kaindi has shut down the Kabete police station traffic department after the officers arrested Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama for speeding along Waiyaki Way.
Some of the hard working officers have been sacked and others transferred to far counties mostly hardship areas as punishment for rightly booking Jubilee leaning ODM MP for Nakuru West.
The traffic officer flagged down the MP as he sped along Waiyaki way, it was not the first time the MP has been booked for speeding.
The Police boss has transferred 22 traffic cops just weeks after Hon Arama called her complaining of Police harassment at the Kabete police station.
Grace Kaindi sets a dubious record as the only police boss who punished her officers for carrying out their mandate correctly.
Hon Arama is not the first VIP to be booked by police, in November 2014 Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi was involved in a scuffle with traffic officers after they arrested him for speeding along the Eldoret-Nakuru road. The officers stayed put and booked him.
Perhaps Grace Kaindi should be reminded that in 2006 Traffic Police along Nairobi Naivasha highway flagged down the driver of the then World Bank country director to Kenya Makhtar Diop for speeding that could later lead to a diplomatic row, then police commissioner general Hussein Ali maintained that police were right to arrest Mr Diop’s driver for speeding despite his diplomatic status.
Ms Kaindi who was reported in the Waki report to have presided over the 2007 post election massacre in Kisumu has sent the officers to hardship areas with immediate effect. Many of the officers were new in the station and therefore will have the trouble of moving their young families (with school going kids) to their new destination.
Hon Arama seem to be enjoying his close working relationship with statehouse operatives to frustrate justice.
