According to the UN Intelligence feeds communicated to it’s staff in Nairobi this week, several areas within Nairobi City County are under high terror threat.
This comes only days after Al Shabaab sent a warning to tourists planning on visiting Kenya to steer off or risk getting attacked. In the statement that came with owning up to the deadly MPEKETONI attack, the islamist militia threatened that Kenya will never know peace as long as it’s troops are in Somalia.
The UN intelligence red marks Kilimani Area specifically Hurlingham, Yaya Centre, Junction Mall and Ngong Rd in Nairobi as currently being targeted and prone to attack anytime. It goes ahead to warn its staff(mostly are foreigners) against frequenting the marked areas.
Below is the Al Shabaab’s official statement on owning up to the MPEKETONI attack and warnings.
