This is What The Draconian Law Meant: To Nazify Kenya By Comrade Albert Nyakundi Amenya In January 1933, Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany and by August 1934, he had declared himself Führer – the leader of Germany.
What happened during the period that allowed Hitler to take the ultimate position of authority? The setting of the Reichstag – German parliament in Berlin – on fire, the passing of the Enabling Act that set up the SA, also known as Storm Troopers or Brownshirts to intimidate non-Nazi deputies and the populace, the abolition of trade unions and the weeding out of other political parties, among others.
Under Hitler, Germany was a Big Brother totalitarian police state that ruthlessly repressed freedom and individual liberty. It also adopted socialism, dramatically increased government spending and raised taxes to astronomical levels.
I am afraid that Kenya is presently at this sordid and frightening threshold of totalitarianism should the anti-democratic tendencies of the present administration continue.
If the issuance of condoms to primary school pupils came to Kenyans as a shocker, to me it did not. In fact, it is an indicator that typifies how incapacitated the Jubilee government is.
The President is once again attempting to put a square peg into a round hole. This government will never be august to the 3rd Generation (3G).
After ostensibly promising children laptops, it has tactically backed out and now offering condoms instead.
Consequently, our founding fathers Mzee Jommo Kenyatta, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, Josiah Mwangi Kariuki et al, must be marvelled at its treachery wherever they are watching from. This grandiose political stunts pulled by the Jubilee administration are absolutely unprepossessing.
For instance, the recent desecration of our hallowed legislative temple by the Jubilee Members of Parliament at the precinct of parliament – when a mongrel nearly ate Hon. Arati’s finger – confirms that this administration is determined to hold parliament hostage.
The introduction of the draconian Laws (Amendment) Act 2014 by the President was marking the Nazification of Kenya. The law was meant to intimidate opposition and the populace.
It was meant to weed out unfavorable political parties. But now, that is no more, thanks to CORD through The High Court judges Justices Isaac Lenaola, Mumbi Ngugi, Hedwig Ong’udi, Hillary Chemitei and Louis Onguto for annulling the 10 draconian sections that were directed at raping our constitution.
