A generation whose DNA was TNA has slowly been edged out of the jubilee government as President Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto stuff the echelons of power with grey haired men.
The thinking behind these appointments is to return a favour and show the ethnic communities where these old men belong that ‘they’ are in government. However, as Sam Ongeri who was already a lecturer at the University of Nairobi when Deputy President William Ruto was 8 years old  returns to the government payroll, Jubilee youths are reeling with rage, albeit hidden, as they put a brave face to avoid being laughed at by their CORD compatriots.
To placate the youths, President Uhuru’s Huduma Centres have opened in key towns in the country. These centres, though manned by older folks, are serviced by youths, most of whom have personal connections with politicians and government bureaucrats of the UhuRuto regime.
Uhuru has recycled some names who have worked in Kenya’s civil service since independence, making a mockery of a digital government based on the future of the youths. These oldies include former head of public service Francis Muthaura, Mate Wamae, Francis Kaparo, Mohammed Mohammud, Chirau Ali Mwakwere, Sam Ongeri among several others.
Mohammud, Mwakwere and Ongeri heads to various diplomatic missions abroad and here in Nairobi while the others are serving as chairmen of plum and strategic commissions and parastatals.
