The Orange Democratic Movement, ODM, is making efforts to have the Nyando petition winner Jared Okello fly its flag in the forthcoming by election.
ODM Executive Director Magerer Lang’at revealed the party is considering having Okello on its ticket as the court’s ruling may bar Outa from vying.
“Our legal committee is still looking at the court ruling that indicated that Outa should be barred from holding any elective position. If Okello decides to join the party, we will grant him permission to participate in the by-election like any other candidate,” Langat said.
Okello confirmed receiving calls from Orange House, the ODM party headquarters, to join chungwa. However, he is still non-committal.
The ultimate goal of CORD should be to capture presidency in 2017 and therefore as a coalition, we should approach the Nyando by-election as a united family,” he said.
