The task force investigating the bungled ODM elections during the last NDC has protested what they term as ‘speculative’ reports appearing on the Standard Newspaper to the effect that the team has proposed the removal of current Executive Director Mr Magerer Langat and other directors.
“The taskforce investigating the botched ODM elections recommends an overhaul of the party secretariat and re-constitution of the National Elections Board (NEB) before fresh polls are held. Targeted is the party executive director Magerer Lang’at and NEB commissioners, who oversaw the bungled party elections, while there is no clear headway on who hired the ‘men in black. . .” wrote the paper.
In a Press release sent to newsrooms by the body’s char Jotham Nyakuri, the taskforce has dismissed the media reports, saying they are yet to even compile their investigations.
The Task Force is surprised and concerned with the continued speculative trend adopted by a section of the media particularly the Standard Newspaper regarding the work of the Task Force. We just hope that the paper is not involved in we wider plot to pre-empt our investigations against some people under probe. We are involved in analyzing and evaluating a huge volume of evidence we gathered and have not even started compiling the report. One wonders where such speculative journalism will lead to. This is an inquiry and such speculation can only ruin the objectivity of the results. We are confident that we have the capability to do the right thing and definitely know where to take our report when it is ready.
