ODM: Raila not seeking Kidero post, treat RUMOURS as Jubilee PROPAGANDA

ODM: Raila not seeking Kidero post, treat RUMOURS as Jubilee PROPAGANDA

June 6, 2014

ODM Party has dismissed rumours that CORD leader Raila Odinga is interested in the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the event that Governor Evans Kidero is ousted by the Supreme Court.

AVOID PROPAGANDA

Rumours being spread by some quarters in Nairobi that ODM/CORD Leader Mr. Raila Odinga will vie for the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat in the event of a by-election are untrue and should be dismissed with the contempt they deserve.
That Mr. Odinga will be in the race in the event the Supreme Court of Kenya upholds the decision by the Appeal Court to nullify the election of Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero are not only a fabrication but also baseless and only intended to discredit the stature and persona of the CORD leader.
Mr. Odinga has stated not in one forum but on many occasions that he supports Dr. Kidero and will stand with him at all times just like he would to all the other Governors elected under the umbrella of the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD).
Mr. Odinga has always stood for Devolution and it is his wish that the same is fully implemented and County Governments given enough resources to ensure adequate service delivery to mwananchi at the local level.
As a statesman and a national leader, Mr. Odinga is focusing on bigger things and the building of our great Nation. Therefore the propaganda being spread in the streets of Nairobi does not hold any waters.
It is his wish that we all focus on more important matters of National unity and stop these cheap, baseless and unsupported claims.
