Orange Democratic Movement elections has been put off to a later date. This is after chaos rocked the event going on at Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani.
ODM polls was set to elect 27 new top decision making organ  of the party NEC.
Trouble started when nominated Member of Parliament Hon Mwaura’s name was omitted from the party ballot paper. We could not establish if the omission was by design or just an error.
Hon. Mwaura’s supporters resorted to violence leaving the party with no option BUT call the exercise off
Mwaura is a nominated MP who hails from the ODM’s vote barren region of Mt Kenya. His loyalty to the party paid off when he was nominated to parliament beating other party stalwarts.
This is how one of the delegates captured it on his Facebook page:
While Party Leader Raila Odinga was away on a lunch-break as elections were on, information reached him that Hon. Mwaura Isaac protested wildly, widely and loudly about a ‘pre- prepared list’ distributed by ‪#‎TeamAbabuJoho‬ immediately the process started- that excluded his names. The rest followed. NEB to shortly issue a press statement alongside all candidates. Highly likely that the process will proceed in few days time decentralized to regions & NOT in Nairobi; via secret ballot.
