ODM Elections Board headed by Judith Pareno has released the following statement:
THE ODM NOMINATIONS FOR HOMABAY SENATORIAL BY-ELECTION.
The National Elections Board (NEB) of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) wishes to make the following announcement;
1) All interested aspirants for the Homabay Senatorial seat are invited to pick Application Forms for Nomination at Orange House- Fill them, pay the requisite fee and return them to the National Elections Board by 11:00 am tomorrow Thursday 11th December, 2014.
2) After filling and submitting the application forms, the aspirants will then be required to have a session with the National Elections Board Commissioners at Orange House.
3) The Nomination exercise for the party Candidate in the by-election slated for February 2nd 2015 will be conducted by bonafide Delegates from Homa Bay County. The National Elections Board has made this decision owing to the short notice given by the IEBC for political parties to nominate their candidates, which compromises our ability to carry out nominations by universal suffrage. This decision has already been approved by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party.
4) Nominations will be held on Monday, 15th December 2014 at 10:00am at a venue to be announced by the National Elections Board (NEB).
The delegates to take part in the nomination exercise next Monday will be drawn from all the Constituencies in HB County (20 each) the 20 members of the Branch Executive, the nine Members of Parliament, the 48 Members of the County Assembly and the Governor.
