REVEALED: Top Consulting firm had RECOMMENDED DISMISAL of EVICTED ODM Director Magerer Langat from Office

October 31, 2014

The ejection of Magerer has brought to the fore simmering discontent in Kenya’s largest party as members await  the full results of an ongoing investigations already launched into the incident.

A document alleged to have been authored by an independent consultancy firm reveals several instances of leadership malfeasance on the part of the Executive Director which had called for his removal.However, in what is believed to be shielding from Party Leader Raila Odinga, Magerer continued to serve even as he increasingly disparaged the ODM party and the party leader.

“. . .since the current office holder was appointed, he has exhibited extreme incompetence, championed schisms within the staff and party rank and engaged in acts of insubordination. The analysis herein below demonstrates as much. . .” reads the document’s opening paragraph.

The documents reads further “the ED has seized every single moment to undermine the authority and leadership of the party by adopting positions divergent to the official positions of the party. He for instance disparaged and chided the quest for national dialogue, rebuked the party leader’s official reception rally terming it unnecessary and refused to attend all saba saba rallies including the rallies that took place in rift valley. He has openly campaigned for the replacement of the Party leader as presidential party candidate among members of the secretariat”.

Magerer is also accused of flagrant falsification of the party delegates register which led to the botched ODM Party elections in February.

“The ED conceived and authored the dubious party delegates list ahead of the February 28th NDC. He blatantly replaced devout and bonafide party delegates who did not conform to his machinations. The NEC is aware that the only members of the secretariat who handled the delegates were ED himself and his personal secretary while ensuring that none of the Directors got involved in the exercise including the Director in charge of the exercise”.

Even worse, Magerer is accused of leaking strategy to ODM Party competitors by hoarding information to both the media and the Jubilee government. The media strategy was alleged to be through former deputy ODM Communications Director Maseme Machuka whom he promoted to to be the ODM Political Affairs Officer.

The document further reads;

In total defiance of the current political environment, the ED has irredeemably failed to ensure effective analysis and monitoring of political developments in the country in order to appropriately advise the party.

Additionally, the ED has failed to actualize the goals set out in his job description as outlined hereunder;

To date he has failed to initiate or conceive the formulation of party policies and strategies geared towards helping the party to develop a robust legislative agenda to propel its ideology and endear itself to Kenyans.

He has failed to establish collaborative links and relations with party formations both at the national and county levels.

He has failed to revamp the party communications strategy to enhance its public standing and visibility.

He has failed to establish strategic partnerships with other directors, branch officials and grassroots leaders to drive membership mobilization.

To date he has failed to shepherd the formulation and effective implementation of party standard operational procedures, tools and resources for effective and timely delivery of operational support to the party organs.

Orange House, the headquarters of ODM, is reportedly a deserted zone as several employees allied to former Executive Director Magerer Langat did not turn up for work a day after their ‘boss’ was forcefully ejected from CORD parliamentary group meeting.

Magerer is quoted telling competing political parties representatives that ODM party was dead, this is what angered party members and led to MCAs ejecting him from the party parliamentary group meeting  yesterday.

Party Executive Director has and had no reasons whatsoever, “clinging onto the skin of a dead cattle”, all this while till last Sunday when he ostensibly made some remarks in Nakuru which seemingly provoked party faithfuls across the country. Mheshimiwa Magerer reportedly declared that his party ODM is ‘dead’ and that his Party Leader is both ‘tired and old’ and must ‘resign’. There is nothing a sane, living man could be doing underground in the land of the dead. say a Party stalwart

Among those who are reported to have kept away from work today include ODM Political Affairs Officer Maseme Machuka, Executive Assistant Mildred Were (also in charge of procurement), Operations Officer Charles Bett, Administrative Assistant Robert Bett, ODM Youth League National Coordinator Benson Musungu, a Mr Robert Koskei among others.

Another Magerer ally, Caesar Asiyo has been seen around a Kinyozi in Nairobi shaving his beards. When contacted, ODM Communications Director Phillip Etale said he was seated in his chair, serving the party as usual. Also reported to be present was Rosemary Kariuki and Wafula Buke, both directors in charge of mobilization and strategy respectively.
