ODM’s 8 aspirants for the Homa-Bay County senatorial position were today called for a whole-day consultative meeting with the ODM National Elections Board led by Hon. Judy Pareno.
The aspirants jointly agreed that the party flag-bearer will be nominated by a total of 406 delegates – 58 delegates each from the Fmr 6 sub-branches (Karachuonyo, Kasipul-Kabondo, Rangwe, Ndhiwa, Gwassi & Mbita); 48 MCAs; 9 MPs; 1 Governor).
Each aspirant will nominate an agent and a clerk. There will be 8 agents and 8 clerks.
Tomorrow morning, Friday 12th December, 2014, as the rest of the nation celebrates Jamuhuri day, the 8 ODM aspirants will congregate at Orange House Nairobi to verify and agree on the final list of delegates, which will be pegged on the 2010/2011 list.
Homa Bay voters are skeptical of the delegates system and are waiting to be convinced that the most popular candidate will be the party’s flag bearer.
