NTV’s Loud Mouth Larry Madowo under FIRE for ROASTING Hon Keter allegedily on orders from ‘STATEHOUSE’ operatives

January 26, 2015

The media again came under heavy criticism from Kenyans for continued biased propaganda packed reporting, the latest is Larry Madowo who yesterday invited Hon Keter on the controversial Weighbridge saga.

Larruy Madowo came to the show to roast hon Keter and NOT to get his side of the story, some Keter supporters are now of the opinion that Larry’s script and that of KTN’s Yvone Okwara were prepared at statehouse.

Here are some of the posts on social media/Facebook that were critical of Larry Madowa and his band of media out to perpetuate propaganda for some statehouse cartels.

Mutua: Larry Madowo:- Keter’s conduct was unfortunate but you dont call guests on your show to lecture them. Journalistic ethics (and training) require that you moderate the debate with a view to getting both sides of the story and let the viewers judge.

John Onyando: I used to write on these pages that Larry Madowo is a bad journalist. But that was during those election debates, and many are those who read my views through the partisanship of electioneering.
Well, Larry’s unprofessionalism was laid bare tonight as he turned his interview with MPs Alfred Keter and Birdi Singh into a shouting match. On a show where Keter, still smarting from his unfortunate storming of a road weighbridge to demand the illegal release of a detained truck, should have been on the defensive, Larry yelled at the MP, using needless adjectives while prosecuting only one thought – roasting the MPs for unethical behaviour. No context, no attempt at finding what took place beyond the moments captured on the recording, and certainly no interest in the MPs’ point of view.
In the end, Keter, who like all notorious URP rent seekers knows how to lie through his teeth, conceitedly took the victim’s seat, humbly begging to be heard without prejudice. He of course had nothing to say but lie. But his decorum earned the sympathy of many viewers, I believe.

On a more fundamental issue, this Keter incident just confirmed how sheepish the media has become. Finding a soft target, an institution that collectively failed to report the truth on the Langata Rd Primary Sch landgrabbing finally discovered its anti-corruption role. They seized onto the incident with gusto, adopting literally the same lines, including the sacrilegious treatment of that statement from State House. One wonders whether this media is a watchdog or a gatekeeper for those in power

Ritchie: I would have wished for Larry Madowo to bring in the staff at the weighbridge and the police to be interviewed together with Hon. Keter at the Nation offices today. I harped about it the whole day. Obviosly he didn’t. He had a pre-judgement already predetermined and refused to be a journalist tonight but a rogue cop who decides you are already guilty even before he takes you to court. This is how Pierce Morgan lost his Job at CNN. By being overly a bully towards his interviewees.

I am not holding court for Hon. Ketter nor do I speak for anyone. Infact, I was one of those who have said he goofed big time on this one. I personally wanted to know the genesis of his goof but after how Larry handled the interview, I am beggining to wonder if there wasn’t more in that clip of last night than we are made to believe.

Larry, you sucked big time tonight. It’s not for you decide for us, your audience, what is or what is not right. Yours was not to crucify Hon. Ketter but to ask him questins and let the public hear him out. I believe Mutua has answered you very well. You sunk very low indeed tonight

Silas: Hypocrisy and double-standards will take Kenyans down!

Folks were removed from public and private transport means in Naivasha, January 2008, asked their surnames, hacked to death in broad daylight with eyes and other body parts chopped off. This informed what was to be widely called the ‘Post-Election Violence”. As a sick society, all indications are that we seem comfortable with all that.

Then when Hon. Alfred Keter is involved in a scuffle with police, same Naivasha area, guys go bonkers calling for ‘due process’ and trying to blow it.

Chapter Six cannot be used against Keter if it was not used against Ruto and Kenyatta whose offices called for a higher standard of integrity even by the time they were still suspects aspiring for public offices.

DPP should instead unmask the Lang’ata Primary land-grabber before going for a mere exchange between Keter and officers. I can bet that this Keter thing is to be used to kill hitherto ariSINGH matters of ‪#‎PrivateDevelopers‬.

Fwamba: ”During the 2007/08 post election violence, machete wielding village crooks descended on innocent Kenyans who belonged to the ‘wrong’ tribes.None of these crooks has been prosecuted so far.Recently during the UPR for Kenya, the deputy DPP claimed that Kenyans are trying to move on (to forget about the 2007/8) crimes.Has Keter committed a crime that is any worse compared to those who have committed a lot of extra judicial murders in this country and they roam freely? Why don’t we deal with issues in order of their gravity…hypocritical Kenyans?Give Keter a break!”
