Budalangi lawmaker and ODM Secretary General Ababu Namwamba has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to resolve the boundary impasse between Kenya and Uganda over Migingo islands in Migori County before he engages in further deals.
The island was forcefully annexed by Museveni and remained a thorny issue between Kenya and Uganda during the last days of the Grand Coalition government.
At the same time, the Budalangi MP remain adamant that Uganda has no surplus sugar to import to Kenya.
In an extensive tour of Migori county to popularize the Orange party and urge residents to take national identity cards and voting cards, Hon. Namwamba warned leaving out Migingo in engagements with Uganda is tantamount to resigning the sovereignty of part of Kenya to Uganda.
“Museveni should return Migingo to demonstrate good neighbourliness,” said Namwamba.
