Nairobi Senator’s Sonko Rescue Team BAILS OUT 100 year old granny JAILED in Embu Prison

March 19, 2015 Leave a Comment

It was joy and jubilation in Embu prison compound when Nairobi Senator’s Sonko Rescue Team arrived and bailed out the 100 years granny Margret Ngima who has been held at the Embu GK Prison for the past nine days.

The granny Ms Ngima had already started to serve the 3 months jail term slapped on her by high court for contempt of court.

Ms Ngima was jailed for three months for failing to attend court proceedings and was counting on her sons, who eke a living doing menial work, to raise Sh100,000 for bail.

Pius Njeru coordinator Central region Sonko rescue team speaking at the Embu Gk Prison after the release of the granny thanked the Nairobi senator Mike Sonko for making the release of the granny possible

He said the senator paid the shs 100,000 fine to get the release of the old woman out.

The remand precints attracted curious onlookers as the staff of the Sonko Rescue team awaited the formal release process of the granny from prison.

The overjoyed granny said she wanted to go back home to attend to her goat and chicken but expressed her concern over her two sons who will still have to serve the three month jail term.

She said one of her son who previously worked as watchman in a local school have lost his job after being jailed with the other leaving a frustrated wife who had just a week after she delivered a baby .

The rescue team said they would take the granny to Nairobi for some time to manage the stress before they bring her back home in Embu.

Later Senator Sonko posted this moving message on his Facebook page>>>

Watu Wangu,
Finally Our Grandma Ngima Gakoromo Margaret Ngina is free courtesy of Sonko Rescue team and can afford to smile once again after being behind bars because of lack of Kshs. 100,000 bond due to a Land Case.
This late evening I was shocked and found myself emotional when I read a story about our beloved 100 year old granny from Embu who was jailed for failing to raise a fine amounting to Kshs. 100,000 while we have well-connected individuals implicated in Multi-Million Shilling Public Rip-offs continuing to roam in the streets scot-free.
Sonko Rescue Team was dispatched to help bail out the granny…We could not believe and accept that she spends a 2nd Night in a Cell.
Sonko Rescue Team will later perform a Full Medical Check-up to make sure that she is all round okay after the unexpected humiliation she underwent.
Let us all Learn to Respect, Love and Protect the ELDERLY especially women…They took care of us when we were young and It is now our turn to take real care of them.
We also hereby call for further and thorough investigations on the entire land saga.
God Bless and Protect All the Elderly in Our Community, God Bless and Protect us All!!
Nawapenda Wote na muwe na Usiku Mwema.
