From City Hall to Westlands on FOOT: Gov Kidero BEATS TRAFFIC to arrive at meeting 4km away!

March 18, 2015 Leave a Comment

Dr. Evans Kidero yesterday beat traffic to arrive at a meeting at Hotel Villa Rosa Kempenski, prompting Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) to gift him with an hilarious hashtag #FromCBDtoKempenski.

The distance between CBD to Kempenski -according to city planner who did not wish to be named – is over 4km. The Nairobi Governor recreated his childhood when he could walk 12 kilometres to school to acquire education. Great job!

Here is how the Nairobi Governor chronicled the experience:

Today I got stuck in traffic and had to walk to my meeting at the Kempinski hotel in Westlands from the CBD to officially launch the 18th (AFWA) International Water Congress and exhibition, scheduled to take place at the KICC from February 22nd -26th 2016.

I will ensure that the new raft of traffic measures launched last week by CS Transport and Infrastructure Eng. Michael Kamau and myself takes effect immediately to reduce traffic and congestion in Nairobi. I totally feel your pain. Things will change!
