Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has threatened to file an impeachment motion against Deputy President William Ruto.
Hon. Kaluma wants DP Ruto to voluntarily step aside to allow investigations into claims that he interfered with the award of a tender for the upgrade of Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.
A whistle-blower, Herbert Ojwang, last week tabled a report and audio clips before the Public Investment Committee claiming that the cost of the hospital upgrade had been inflated from the original Sh17 billion to Sh28 billion.
Ojwang claimed the sh. 11 billion was DP Ruto’s ‘kickback’ after taking over the deal.
