Gatundu south member of parliament moses kuria was on friday morning arrested and interrogated by police at kilimani p[olice station over assault allegations.
kuria is said to have roughed up a woman ,who reportedly called out on the outspoken politician.
The MP was picked by detectives from Westlands Friday morning and driven to Kilimani Police Division for processing in an arrest that came after heightened social media campaign, taunting police of turning a blind eye to the calls for justice.
In a recorded video, the alleged victim of assault identified as Joyce Wanja narrates her ordeal, which she said originated for questioning him over remarks he had made in Kiambu during a function held in a children’s home.
Wanja claimed that the Gatundu South MP descended on her with kicks and blows while she was in her line of duty preparing to go on air for Inooro TV Kirîrîmbi show.
Kuria had allegedly accused women of wearing smelly panties. He also said most of the women were whores who could be bedded anywhere without shame. “Whatever he said about women was demeaning and the remarks were made in the presence of children, that is why I told him to rethink and retract them, but instead he attacked me,” she said in a video that has now gone viral.
The arrest and interrogation of the outspoken MP comes at at time when kuria claimed ODM leader Raila Odinga is behind controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna’s tribulations.in part of his argument,He said President Uhuru Kenyatta, on the other hand, has no problem with Miguna’s return to Kenya.
