January 5, 2016 Leave a Comment

A mother whose daughter is still in hospital with spinal injury following last year’s deadly terror attack at Garissa University College died of depression. Josephine Waitherero passed over Christmass.

The husband, Julius Gikonyo, believes the paralysis of their daughter Rachael Munjiru took a toll on her, leading to the depression and eventually, death.

The family has been in anguish following the paralysis of their daughter who was shot by terrorists and left paralyzed. While Doctors at the National Spinal Injury Hospital in Nairobi have recommended the daughter to seek more specialized treatment in India at a cost of sh. 2 million, the family has been unable to raise the funds.

The family is requesting assistance to bury her as well as help the daughter raise sh. 2m for treatment in India.
